About the release

The 12.1.0 release is the seventh of our twelve monthly releases planned for 2023. Please see below for the highlights, along with the full list of fixes and improvements. As always, we look forward to your feedback as we continue to improve the product every single month.

Patch management: custom reboot message

You can now customize the end-user reboot reminder message used by Patch Management policies from the Branding page. This is to satisfy users wanting to communicate with end users in a different language or with personalized phrasing. Refer to Reboot Text in Branding.

Updated Help menu

Some changes to the Help menu introduced in the 12.0.0 release as part of our IT Complete common look and feel strategy had some undesired side effects. This has now been rectified with the re-inclusion of a dedicated Knowledge Base link (previously Documentation) and re-routing of the Release Notes and What’s New items to more appropriate locations. The current version of Datto RMM has also been included. Refer to Help resources.

ESXi host automatic enrollment deprecation

Adding an ESXi host via the Network Discovery automatic enrollment has been deprecated to prevent unintended locking of ESXi host root accounts when credentials are regularly checked during Network Discovery scans. Refer to Initiate Network Discovery in Network Discovery and Automatically Onboard in Creating or editing a site.

NOTE  No changes have been made when adding an ESXi host manually.

Updates since the last release

Type Summary
Fix Selection variables are now correctly used by quick and scheduled jobs, rather than the default value being used in error.
