About the release
The 9.2.0 release is the second monthly update for Datto RMM in 2021. Along with numerous fixes and improvements, some of the highlights are listed below.
Network topology enhancements
We have continued to improve and add functionality to Network Discovery and network topology in the New UI. These enhancements include:

More reliable rendering of the topology. We have removed the need for at least one network infrastructure device to be present before the creation of a topology is attempted, resulting in a far higher success rate. Refer to Network Discovery.

Discovered devices table. You can now view a table of discovered devices in the Network Discovery card on the New UI Site Summary page, providing additional visibility of devices to bring under management or potential risks to client networks. Refer to Network topology device list.

Topology NIC Vendor and Manufacturer search. You can now search topology devices for NIC Vendor and Manufacturer. Refer to Network topology map.

Visualization improvements. We have improved the visualization for several device types, including Datto Continuity appliances, Datto Networking Access Points, Switches, and Managed Power devices.
VNC management settings
We have added the ability to control whether VNC is installed on Datto RMM devices. This can be controlled in Account Settings or on a per-site basis, providing flexibility when VNC is not desired in certain client environments. Refer to VNC Settings.
API updates
You can now configure account and site variables via the API, providing new ways to automate important setup tasks for added efficiency. Refer to Use Swagger UI to explore API requests.
Updates to the New UI
We have also made numerous updates to the New UI. These include the following:

Device group colors and other updates. You can now specify a color for device groups. Device group membership is also displayed on the Device Summary page, and you can now also create device groups from this location. Refer to Tag color and Cards.

Manage Site Groups. You can now manage Site Groups, including view, create, edit, and delete functionality. Refer to Site Groups - New UI.

Sites page updates. We have added additional sorting and filtering to a number of columns on the Sites page. You can also view the PSA Company Name column if you have the Autotask PSA Integration enabled. Refer to List of sites.
Ransomware Detection updates
You can now run a simulation package to test Datto RMM Ransomware Detection. Refer to Can I test Ransomware Detection?.
