About the release
The 7.8.5 release is the twelfth update for Datto RMM in 2019. This release significantly improves the ConnectWise Manage Integration. With this step, we deliver on the biggest requests that followed the release of the integration in Q1 of 2019.
The following functionality has been added:
- Automate the mapping and creation of ConnectWise Manage Configurations from Datto RMM devices
- Support a different ConnectWise Manage Service Board per monitor type or individual monitor definition
- Allow configuration of a specific ConnectWise Manage Ticket Status when Datto RMM initiates a closure
We have also completely redesigned the ConnectWise Manage Integration setup page to offer a faster and more intuitive workflow.
Impact to existing ConnectWise Manage Integration users
Existing mappings and ticketing configuration will work as before until changed.
After the release, some manual configuration will be required to support new functionality. It is recommended that you familiarize yourself with the new ConnectWise Manage Integration setup page by working from top to bottom and reviewing / configuring each section in turn. Refer to ConnectWise Manage Integration.
With this release, the previously announced authentication changes will take effect. The most important change is that you will be required to use your email address instead of your username to log in to Datto RMM. Other areas will also be impacted like SSO settings, creating new users, password resets, and logging in from the Agent Browser.
To help you prepare for these changes, please refer to the following overview and FAQ: Authentication Changes for Datto RMM.
